Owlhaven is the originator of this contest, as far as I know. It's such a blast to play, and I even won, once! High five for me...!
I thought I would have a little fun over here, besides, I'm curious! Who of you is my bosom garage sale hunting buddy?
Here's the deal... Look at all the stuff I bought at a garage sale this morning (click on the photo to enlarge it) and give me your best guess.
*What is included is the 60+ pieces of clothing, the two bags of blocks, a bag of dolls and their accessories, and two little girl purses.
I apologize in advance for the poor photo. It was stinkin' HARD to get everything inside the frame!!
The prize... because that's the best part, right?!
Homemade caramel popcorn...made by yours truly and delivered to your door. Delivery will not be by yours truly, but by the package delivery guy.
Happy guessing! Comments will close Tuesday at midnight.

I'm going to guess your mom is your bosom bargain hunter since she is in town. And I'm going to guess you paid $10 for everything.
My mom was the queen of yard sale shopping when I was growing up. You kinda had to be great at finding bargains when you have 6 kids!
My guess is that you paid $25 for everything.
Hope you have a great time with your parents in town- I'm going home to see family soon and I can't wait!!!
I was gonna guess $10 but the previous commenter guessed $10....so I will say $9.50..lol.
I am guessing $22 :) The princess dress-up dress is really cute! Looks like you did really well!!
Have a great time with your parents this weekend!
I never take more than $20 to yard sales and 1 check..for jus tin case....so my guess is $20 for all of it....I heart garage sales too.
My guess it $17
Have fun with your mom. I'm already feeling the pain of her leave of absence.
Tarah
$23.00
I miss yard saling. When we lived in Chicagoland, the neighbors were wealthy and there wasn't much competition, but down here, if I don't get out before 7:00, it's not worth going. And I have yet to figure out how to get six kids fed and out the door before 7:00 in the morning.
Oh we could so be garage sale buddies. Ha!
I must know in order to guess... was it all separate (the clothes) or a big lot? :)
I'm going to guess $21

I'm guessing 12.50, I so love garage sales.

Hmmm, this is why I will never be on The Price Is Right...I'm so bad at this! I'll guess $15.50 for the lot.
I hope you have a good weekend with your parents!
I'll say $16.50 :-) Mmmmm, that popcorn looks good!!!
Ok. I'll do anything for popcorn - although you can't send it to me since NZ's so strict about food entering its borders. In fact, since you posted that recipe it's become one of my favourite things to make. ANYWAYS!
Your garage sale buddy - I'd say your mom, since we all know that people usually get their bargaining techniques from their Mommas. Althoug in my case it's my Dad. So! I think - I'm really a bargain hunter here - you spend $7.
I wish people did better GS's here. They make you pay consignment prices here - I don't even bothered hunting. Blah...
I was going to guess $22, but since someone took that I'm going to say $22.25. i got 3 pair of shoes and a headband for for makenna for 50 cents today...I so wished you lived closer...i LOVE garage sale shopping!
Your mom of course and I my guess is $16.00 =)
I love your blog. It is so fun to read. My guess is $17.00
I love that green polka dotted skirt.
$26.50--because that's how much I spent at garage sales on Friday, for mas o menos the same amount of clothes.
You'll have to mention when you post of pic of a child wearing the above outfits so we can drool over the adorability/bargain quotient once again.
I'm so glad you're doing this too! People almost always lowball me when I do this on my blog so I'm guessing $38.
Now I want to go yard saling!
Mary
Hey! I love garage sales, and can't find any decent ones around here at Maxwell AFB. I would have to say that you spent $24 on all of that wonderful stuff!!!
OH yeah I forgot to say one thing!!! I absolutely love your blog and all of your pics!
My guess...$17.75. I love garage sales too...esp. for baby/kids' clothes!
Alrighty then. I'm gonna say $18. It wasn't my first guess, but since it was taken, I'm goin' with this one.
I could've asked questions like, "what time of day did you go to this garage sale?" and such, but I didn't really desire to be a giant pain in the rump. I'm sure you appreciate that fact.
My guess is $23.75. I'm jealous, it looks like you scored big time!
Way to go!! My guess is $28, and by the way, we got some of those cardboard blocks about 5 1/2 years ago and they are probably the most played with toy in our house. Love them.
Hmm, $15.00, but if I win, that will be a shock, hehe. I haven't gone to a garage sale since I was a kid - which is dumb considering there is one just about every week in housing here. Guess I just got burned out by it when I was younger. My neighbor had one not long ago and I saw a sewing machine. I was standing there debating whether I was going to take the plunge or not and ask about it when someone else came by and bought it. Yeah, I'm a dork!
$18 Smackaroos! And how lucky are you to have your brother visit and now mom and dad! So fun!
Oops, didn't read the comments until after and ended up guessing the same as michelle. Sorry!
I'm going with $14.50. And I'm totally loving your blog! :)
I was going to say $20.00 but that guess was already taken, so $20.50 it is!
They gave you the big bag of clothes when they saw how cute Eliza is and you paid $5 for the toys....
Val in ABQ
hmm, I say 18.50 . I always got good deals in Clovis at yardsales.
I am going to say $16. This is too fun! The caramel corn does look YUMMY!
My sister and I just had a yard sale this weekend. My sister sold a whole blanket of my nieces stuff, probably about 70 items for $10. We were desperate at this point, it was over a 100 degrees out, what were we thinking?
I think that you must have gotten a great deal!
I say $13.00 for the lot of it. I love garage saleing! Looks like you had a great time getting some good bargains.
Oh how I love a good bargain hunt.. and where better than a garage sale?? :)But what I love even more is homemade carmel corn *insert saliva here*..hehe.. I'm going to guess $32.
I used to yard sale regularly, but haven't had time since I went back to school. Consignments shops are my backup. I am going to guess $34.00. Looks like some great finds!
$22.50
I was a yard sale shopper when I still lives in PA, but they don't have may here in Frederick....can you believe that!? It saddens me.
I'm guessing $21.25... and that's my final answer! I love it when I make out like a bandit with garage sales- it give me such a 'high'. ;)
so 3 questions that would make this guessing game much easier
1)Did you have your cute kids with you
2)Did you have your cute kids ask how much things were
3)was it a man or a lady selling the stuff.... thoes three ????? could change everything but I'll guess anyway............... $8.15
andrea, you are so funny. and you know what? i just wrote a post yesterday (publishing tomorrow morning for $Monday of course) about.... GARAGE SALES!!!!!! you kill me. or, i do have that bloggy esp, since we both had it on the brain.
my first guess was 15.00. i believe in a good bargain.
and i am in the possession of garage sale victory stories that would make your heart flutter. seriously. i love the thrill of the hunt, and the crack-addiction-like high from a good buy...
Megan
my first guess is about $17.50
I'm going to guess 28$
I would really love to go garage saleing with you right now ;)
I'm guessing $23.25. I really enjoy your blog! Looks like you have a wonderful family.
Um...$5.75, if I know what kind of yard sale you went to...
$27...
I'm all about the cheap! I'm going to say $7.00.
I guess $11.50. I LOVE garage sales. You can find everything if you just look long enough!
Since I guessed the same as michelle I will give this another go. And hope I don't guess what has been guessed already...again! My thought process on this guess? Double my last hunch, which was $18. So I'm saying $36...(fingers crossed!)
Aw, what the heck...I'm gonna say you got it all for free! Why not? It's possible. I hope. :)
Love love love your blog! You take amazing photos. I also love garage sales. I'm going to guess $35.00 for the lot.
I'm probably flying in right under the radar tonight and I'm going to guess $16.15.
