I don't know why but I call Eliza "Willis" all the time. Poor girl is going to grow up thinking her name is "Willis" rather than beautiful Eliza.... but I just can't stop myself.
It's: "Whatchoo lookin' at Willis" or "Whatchoo talkin bout Willis" or "Is that so, Willis?"
Seriously, I have a sickness.
Just thought I should pass this little golden nugget of useless information your way.
What are some nicknames you have for your kids?
Hopefully you don't call your sweet little girl Willis, like me.
I can hear the therapy bills ringing up as I write this....

Love the photos - she is gorgeous!!
I call Lex *bubsie*. Why knows why - but he comes when I call for him!! Hunter and Gwen have a million nicknames. Gwennie, Nin, Rose, Hunter Munter, Bud, Buddie . . .
Actually I do call Ty Willis all the time but he does the same. I started the same whatchoo talkin bout Willis when he was just a baby & he always laughed & said it back. We may be strange Andrea but we'll be strange together LOL!!
I call Allison "AlliBug" & I call Shannon "Shana Ri" because her middle name is Riley. I have to say though Willis is my favorite!!
HeeHee!!!
Monkey, punkin, munchkin...
I called my son Twitterbug. It's just some word I made up when I brought him home from the hospital.
That is so funny...what a nick name! I call K "Bubby"...or "Baby"..even though he isn't a baby anymore!
She sort of has that "Willis" look in the first photo, haha. Such a sweet innocent face :)
I call my boys chickie-doo or chickie-loo. I always get strange looks when it slips out in public. Oh well.
Also used to call my youngest "boo-bah" when he was a baby. He had such a large, round head and no neck- he looked just like the boo-bah characters on the children's PBS show! He's grown out of it thankfully :)
I call Braydon "handsome" and we call Makenna "ladybug". Willis is hilarious! It's a good thing she's soooo pretty!
Madison's nick name is Boo. She doesnt mind it in front o family and answers to it all the time..but dont say it around friends. She would always play peek a boo with Scott and she would say...boo...so he called her this....
Miller....is mil mil....Madison named him this...I also call him bumpkin.....Scott wouldnt let me call him pumpkin....go figure.
She is just so sweet.
Willis - that's very cute and original.
Gideon was Bub from the moment I saw him. The first thing I would do whenever we got into the NICU was peek my head into his incubator and say, "Hey Bub, mommy is here!" He would ALWAYS open his eyes (usually only for a moment) as if to day "Hi mommy, I'm glad your here" to me and then snuggle in and go back to sleep.
When we first brought Gamba home I called him Bub once, bawled my eyes out and decided that would never happen again. But knew he needed a nickname (I'm big on nicknames too) I came up with pups (I know very original right)sometimes I call him baby too.
Jericho has been sweets or lovebug there are a few other ones I throw in there but those 2 have always been there.
Seth has started calling her, J Rico. I kind of hope that one doesn't stick, yet it is kind of cute when he does it.
Look what you did, you got me going. I love nicknames! I might have to go do my own post about nicknames.
I love that! I actually posted a blog a while back on the crazy nicknames I call my kids. Right now I'm stuck on calling Ava peanut butter or princess p. Kole is usually Buddy or B. I'm not sure why it's "B" but, it just comes out. :)
Actually, my sweet little girl (who happens to be 15) has a nickname since birth..."Sambo." And she hates it! But we just grin and laugh and call her that anyway! It came from her dark complexion at birth and just kinda stuck.
Blake...is Blake the Snake...even his friends call him that or BOB, which he likes. It's his initials.
Oh gosh, girl... that's nothing. Poor Jaron has a new name everyday... Bubba, J. Jr., J.T., J-Ron (pronounced like Rawn), Dude, Bug, Stinker, Tank, Stud, and the list could go on!! Bubba is what I call him most often, though.
I am a nickname kinda girl though. Always have been. Most of my close friends get some sort of moniker courtesy of Casey! :)
Such nice names all of you have! We must be weird.
Isaac- Izzy,Ike or Surly Teenager
Madison - Mad, Madgirl or Surly Teenager
Grace - Sis or Sissie (We seemed to have cursed her by naming her Grace as she is the clumsiest child alive)
Olivia - LiverPie (hubs personal fav), Liversnap and when she cut the tip of her finger nearly off and had to have 12 stitches (in a 2yo finger no less) she was called Liverstein. She is sometimes referred to by her siblings as simply...The Dark One.
Hope - Hopey Dopey. She's only 6mos so I'm sure as her personality develops she'll have more.
BTW, we love the "watchoo talkin' 'bout Willis" line and use it frequently. Totally cute nickname for a baby girl!
Nicknames are so fun and so personal.
I called Jacob, "sugar baby", "bubby", and now "big man". I call Brett "Bretters", "Bretter Boy", and "big boy" now that he's walking!
Nicknames are fun; I think they are a term of endearment. We sometimes call my Lily, "Lurly" because she used to call herself that when she was a wee one. My hubby insists on calling our son "Studebaker" for some odd reason. All of the extended family picked up on that one. Stevie started calling Anastasia, "Angelstasia", so that one has been sticking. We also call her Anna Banana. Blessings!
oh my goodness. it's so funny that you are calling her willis. it's a wonder my kids even know their names. seriously, we have always called them something...usually in jest, then out of habit. rufus, boudreaux and thibodaux (since two kids were born in LA), buford, emmy lou, bubby, sissy, wild man, and the list goes on. oh yeah, and beanhead...that's reserved for our almost teen son :)
just add it to the therapy bill, would ya?
Caroline is Sweet Caroline because we are corny and Jack is Boo Boo or Bubby.
Oceana has been or is: Pumpkin, Monkey, Oshee, Oce (Oh-shh), Oshee-babe, Baby, Bubba, Booba, Bumbee, Chickie, Chickie-babe, Bumbee-wumbee, O-Shana, Bubbles, Stinker, Oshee-skoshee, Oshee-kins, uh... I think that's it.
Joshua was Buddy before we were out of the delivery room. Oceana called him Shaw-sho when I was pregnant (her interpretation of Joshua) but seems to have forgotten it now.
What a beauty!
I'm crazy... I call the boys silly food names like "what are you doing turkey" or "you're so sweet potato chip" LOL I'm not sure what's wrong with me.
Smooshie-poo. I call Penelope smooshie-poo.
I have had several for you. Andi, Dree, And, Andrea on the spot reporter Lamb and the most flattering one of all, and I'm sure you really appreciated it.....Andiarrhea. Dave called you Andrea LeHigh Station Rd. Lamb
Oh you'll have to record ths in her baby book so she can get a laugh out of it later on in life :)
