Awww, Mama! More pictures?! This is bordering on obsessive. I know I'm cute and all but really...
Just kidding! You know I love sharing my overwhelming cuteness with the world. I wouldn't want to be selfish...
Alright my friends, let's continue the good practice of sharing... As Daniel says: "Sharing is caring!"
I love a good link, I really do. And I am all about finding a great new blog to follow, which I totally did a few weeks ago. Angella over at
Dutch Blitz... she's a rock star. Angella is funny, sweet, real, and boy, does she take some awesome photos.
One of the very first blogs I ever read is authored by a be-A-utiful woman named Crystal. She writes at
My Longest Year and is one of my all time favorites. The other day she put up a tutorial for an
infant swaddle sheet; that along with her other creations makes me wish upon wish that I could sew. But I can't, so I sit here and gape at the fantastic stuff Crystal and
others are able to make.
Especially those
booty bags by Crystal. (Imagine, a booty bag created from a cute pair of jeans accessorized with some funky ribbon...!) Those are just plain awesome! And so is she. I think I could talk with Crystal for hours ( which we nearly did!) and never come close to running out of stuff to talk about. She's smart, witty, and real, real, real.
You all already know about
POW! over at
McMommy's corner of the world wide web. Fun, fun! If you haven't linked up, you really should. It's super easy and what's better than window shopping in bloggy land?! Besides, you
want, you
need, you
must have McMommy in your bloglines... she's more fun than eating an ice cream cone on a hot summer day!
Okay, I found this new blog, through POW! a couple of weeks ago. Jenny at
ThE SHUTan CLan is a personal trainer, and writes a blog every week on a new exercise we mamas can do to help recover our bodies from pregnancy and childbirth.
Because our bodies
are recoverable, it's just gonna take some time!
This weeks exercise sounds a wee bit painful, but without pain there is no gain... right?
Ugh! That is the lamest saying ever. I hate pain. So why exactly did I choose to have three homebirths...? I digress, Jenny totally has hooked me with her weekly exercise. I'm lovin' it!
Another great link is found over at my friend Megan's. She writes at
Life Every Day, and is yet
another rock star. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff she can pull off all while raising (and raising them well, I might add!) four kids under 5! I am totally digging her
Money Mondays. Awesome, applicable, realistic ideas to integrate into your life.
Oh, one more thing... Join in with
Jessica's Real Life posts, won't you? It's such fun. Besides, she's awesome, hilarious, and smart.
And she's adding her first boy to the Farm Fresh family very soon.
Phew! I'm all linked out for tonight, though I could go on and on. The hot chocolate I made a little while ago is gone (darn!) and I have a hunky husband to hang out with. Lucky, lucky me!
But I'd love to know... any great blogs I should know about? I am ALL about adding to my already busting at the seams bloglines.

WHOO-HOo! Can you hear that from Iowa? I'm told I'm pretty loud!
I have a pair of thin jeans too. Although, even though I could wear them after baby #2, (several months after) they did not fit the same. Not at all.
Woooot! So, I haven't lost anything in 4 months. Ugh. I lost it all in a month, and then plateaued. But for me, there's my honeymoon jeans. I bought them on my HM, probably a few days before I got pregnant. Blah. They're full on bellbottoms with worn knees (oh, but I was so in style for 30 seconds). And they're small 4s. Ak. I put them back on when I was 10 weeks pregnant with Joshua (I didn't have them with me, I know that was a dumb move to pull, but I was curious). I got them shut but felt like my stomach was going to explode. And the muffin top was killer. But there's my 6s that I bought as inbetweens. And they're my everydays. Ew. I hate that I just admitted that. I'm gonna lose this weight. I told my sister this morning that despite "looking" thin, I'm still 13lbs heavier than I was before I got pregnant. And I find that appalling. Yeesh....
Alright, that's it. I'm exercising now. I'm gonna do. I can't stand looking like this anymore.
First of all, congrats on those five pounds!! For me it was my favorite pre-baby jeans. I would try them on every couple of weeks, because sometimes that was more of a judge of progress than the scale. :) It took me an entire year to get there, but I did it :) Funny thing is, I don't really like them anymore. And even though I actually weigh less than I did before I got pregnant, they don't fit even close to the same. Oh well, I have new favorites :) (LLBean modern fit...LOVE LOVE LOVE them:))
Good luck losing the rest of the baby weight. You are doing great, and I am sure you will get there!
I don't know why you always beat me to these posts, but I was about to post something very, very similar! ;) I have finally lost six pounds (since my thighs post); and every week or so I try on a variety of jeans. I'm getting closer and closer...
Congrats on the five pounds, that's awesome!
For me, it's all about hitting a specific number. I've already lost my baby weight, then the ten pounds I gained in between my wedding and baby #1...but I want to lose about 5 more pounds so that I can say that I've lost 100 pounds since baby #1!
YAH FOR YOU!!!!!! Way to go! No wonder your shrinking its all the baby wearing. Really I figured I was weightlifting while doing my stuff around the house. : )
My marker would be my favorite GAP jeans. they must button, zip and there must be no noticeable muffin top. But I've just started going full throttle to really lose some weight so I'm inthe market for some new markers.
That's great - five pounds is a lot!!! For me it's jeans too. I have one pair of expensive jeans I splurged on a couple years ago . . . if I can get those puppies on and zipped up . . . all is right in the world :-) Congrats on zipping yours!!!!
Actually me and my girlfriends 5 of us are doing a 30 day challenge to get in shape or lose some weight. We are meeting at each others houses 1 time a week to walk 3-5 miles and talk through frustrations of the week. The rest of the week we are on our own..no we are not weighing in we know our weight...I think its just good to have someone to account to you to help you through these woman things....
Living where we live, it is TOTALLY the bathing suit.
I have resorted to the "fat suit". The one that covers everything and still pretends to be a two piece.
UGH
Because of the money I raised for the American Heart Association Heart Walk, I won a gift certificate to the new gym. I think I need to use it.
This is so hard for someone who was 117 lbs most of her life. 145 just sucks!
I have an old, and I mean OLD pair of jeans that I refuse to get rid of because ONE day....I plan to fit into them again.....and they are like REALLY OLD....like over 20 YEARS OLD. They are torn up bith knees and both 'cheeks' and I'm sure they would look like 'mom' jeans IF I ever were to fit in them....LOL
But I refuse to throw them out because ONE Day......................They WILL fit.
Whoo hoo for you!! This is so funny because I just squeezed my way into a test pair of shorts and I was so happ to zip them up. Sure, they were tight but in January I couldn't even get them on!! Great job on your success!! I am so happy for you!
WooHoo! YeeHaw Girl! Congrats to you and your pants cause I'm sure they have missed you as much as you've missed them!
Do you have any idea how much you influence and encourage so many out here in Blogland? You do. Thank you! I left you a little some thing on my blog today!
Happy Tuesday!
Woo to the Hoo!
I have a green skirt from before we were married that I used as my marker after having each of our kids. It's totally out of style and actually TOO BIG (WOO HOO!) now, but I still keep it in my closet :)
You go girl! You'll be there in no time.
For me, it's an Ann Taylor dress that I just picked up for some post-baby motivation. I was actually going to do a little post about my new treasure. =)
Great job Andrea!
For me it's a pair of black leather pants that I used to wear when I went out sometimes in college. There is no give to them whatsoever and for the first time in like 4 years I can wear them again. Not sure if I'll be debuting them anytime soon since leather and Lousiana weather don't seem to go hand-in-hand.
Woohoo!!! Congratulations! That's such an awesome feeling.
I don't really have a marker like that, but I did promise myself that when I got back to my pre-baby weight, I'd buy some cute jeans from American Eagle and not care how much they cost. Now I have two pairs, and I feel proud of myself every time I wear them.
You go girl!! That is awesome!!
I have a pair of jeans (my faves) and a Cardinal Baseball shirt that my husband bought for me and I couldn't wear...when I can wear both of those things comfortably, I will have arrived!
Ah! The pants that will one day fit again! Yeah. I have a pair of Lucky's that I absoloutely love! Yes, I try them on every once in a while...they get a little more than mid-way up my thigh. But, we're working on that. Congrats on the weight-loss.
Thinking about my jeans has inspired me to keep going at it harder.
Have I told you that I love your blog?
Keep up all the hard work - it is obviously paying off!
Whoo HOO. Since Brooklyn is only 2 weeks old this an encouragement that it will come off!! I've already started my daily walking. I can't wait until I can do more than that!! I'm not brave enough to even think about what my 'skinny' clothing item should be to measure myself by. I worked my tail off to look good for our vacation to Aruba in June of '06 & found out I was pregnant with Isaac while we were there- and have been pregnant since except for 6 months. I'm terrified of what it's done to my body- YIKES!! I'm highly motivated so here we go....
Yay for you!!!
I'm with Jessica - I can WEAR the same clothes, but they dont fit near the same. And I'm sure they never will (sigh)
Woohoo!!! Actually, it's the shorts I could wear just last year. Seems I've put on about 8 pounds since then...so I've been working on that. I'll let you know when I hit it..... :)
congrats to you girl, you eat dessert for dinner and still loose weight, what a dream:-)
Oh yeah.... I have a couple pairs of 'weight markers' isn't it a WONDERFUL feeling when can get into them again. And so funny... mine aren't really in style either and I don't really wear them but I know if they fit "i'm there" :)
brittany
Congratulations! That is awesome!! I have jeans that are my skinny marker...finally 9 months after having my baby girl I can fit into them :) Congrats again and I also left you something on my blog :)
-Michelle
Well done you. That must be SO satisfying for you. Only a few more pounds to go and they'll fit without the thigh creasy thing.
End is in sight!
DUDE I SO Need to work out! Congrats on your milestones!
Happy POW!
I also enjoy torturing myself, but when a marker pair of pants fits, it's soooo exciting!
AWESOME! Way to go. I think my markers are some jeans from 2004. That was the last time I wasn't pregnant or nursing. three babes later- I don't know that I will make it back in those jeans.
There is no better feeling than fitting back into your skinny pants! I have a pair, but I still can't get them up over my thighs. Each time I try them on, they go up a little farther, and it's awesomeness at its best.
Congratulations! For me it's an old pair of jeans that I've had forever. When I'm where I'm supposed to be, they fit like a glove. Right now..not so much. Maybe in a few months....
CONGRATS! I have those pants as well. A skirt from my first date with my husband and my college jeans.
I got those jeans on the last time I tried but just barely. And the muffin top and yuck looking stretch was not pretty.
BUT IT IS A BIG DEAL!!! CONGRATS!
Congrats! I remember that feeling. . . This is the homestretch, before you know it you'll be wearing those Khaki's again. My marker was a pair of Abercrombie and Fitch Jeans. I was ecstatic when I finally fit into them. Funny thing, I don't wear them anymore.
The weight marker for me surprisingly isn't a piece of clothing....it's my mother and my sister. If they tell me "Wow, you look like you've lost some weight" then I KNOW I've done it!!
Also, seeing a picture of my face. I always put on weight in my face...and if I see a picture of myself, I can right away if I've lost or gained weight.
happy pow!
I suppose I would actually have to be making an attempt to loose weight in order to have a marker ;). Alas I do not have the will power. But I do have jeans that I can't get into that I wish I could. That 3rd baby sure is hard to loose weight from. With my first I was back to prepregnancy weight before my 6 weeks post partum and I didn't even have to work at it. Now I'm way off that pre pregnancy weight. I'm blaming the c-section for not being able to get into those pants, hehehehe.
