I ran out of bread on Saturday so creativity has been the name of the game. Today we had warm, soft, heart-shaped biscuits topped with cheese for lunch. It was delicious.
Sometimes, having to get creative can yield very yummy results.
Here is my Northern Girl's Biscuit recipe.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Will you be my mom? :) LOL! You are the best ever!
Why make plain round when they can be hearts? They taste better that way I think.
Anything tastes better when shaped like a heart (ditto jessica). I was king of in the same boat today...out of bread so I made a little "hors'deuvres" tray of cheese cubes, apples and peanut butter and cucumber (because they like it). I'll have to remember the biscuit idea...how resourceful you are! :)
Mmmmm, buscuits sound so good! And heart shaped makes them even better.
Have you ever tried making home made bread? It's delicious and easy, especially if you have a little equipment, like a good stand mixer. Bread machines are very inexpensive, too, and would be just perfect for a family the size of yours. And as a bonus, a fresh homemade loaf of bread only costs about 50-75 cents to make, even with the best of ingredients!
Hands on time with a bread machine is about 1 minute. With a mixer, it's about 10.
I wish you were my mom.
mmmm....biscuts...and heart ones at that?!!! y
That sounds tasty...I'm sure no one missed the bread!
